About me

Hi, I’m Francesca

Solo traveler. Photographer at heart. Passionate hiker.

How lovely that you’ve found your way to my website – welcome!

My name means “little French girl”, and honestly, my parents couldn’t have chosen a more fitting one. I’m not exactly tall, and my love for France has been with me for as long as I can remember. I’m now living here for the second time – and this time, I fully intend to stay.

Traveling is my greatest passion. I’m that friend people turn to when they need inspiration for new destinations or someone who loves diving deep into the details. When I pack my backpack (usually several times until everything fits just right, traveling light is my motto!), the excitement starts to build and peaks somewhere between the train station and the airport. That indescribable feeling when a journey finally begins, the anticipation of new places, languages, faces, scents, and stories...

It’s exactly these moments that make being on the road so special and the ones I want to share with you here. I’m excited to have you join me on this journey.

Berlin

I was born and raised here. I spent many years working at the airport and earned a degree in Tourism Management, until the travel bug got me

Alsace

In beautiful Alsace, I worked at a guesthouse, found a bit of myself, and picked up quite a bit of wine knowledge along the way. After a few months, I returned to Berlin, where I stayed for about a year...

Côte d’Azur

before life took me to the Côte d’Azur. Here, I’m putting down roots, feeling at home, and finally settled. For now, this is where I’m meant to be.

Countless times I’ve found myself drawn to the country of my favorite painter, Claude Monet, whose colorful masterpieces strike a deep chord within me. Whether on road trips along sun-kissed coastal regions, wandering through fragrant lavender fields, or strolling the winding streets of old towns, France has never failed to enchant me.

In 2022, I took the leap and lived there for the first time for an extended period. In the picturesque region of Alsace, I ran a small guesthouse that felt as if it had stepped straight out of the past into the present. Life in a charming wine-growing village, surrounded by gentle hills and vineyards, often felt like a fairy tale. Even now, the memory of that time brings a smile to my face: the vivid green of the vines, castles glowing in the evening light, and the crooked timber-framed houses leaning fondly against one another still fill me with an indescribable sense of joy.

After a year, I returned to my job at the airport in Berlin and spent the following eighteen months exploring more of Europe. During that time, I discovered the (south-)eastern part of the continent in a whole new way, a region that truly captured my heart.

Then, in June 2024, I threw myself headfirst into a new adventure: with little more than a few summer clothes and my hiking boots, I moved to Nice, right in the heart of the Côte d’Azur. Originally, I planned to stay only until the end of September and then decide where to go next. But more than a year has passed, and I’m still here... with less intention than ever of leaving this beautiful region behind.

The Côte d’Azur, with its unique blend of Mediterranean ease, alpine drama, and cultural richness, has completely captivated me. There are still so many medieval hilltop villages to explore, peaks to climb, museums to discover, and small, unexpected everyday adventures to experience.

Life in Nice is wonderful! Here, I’ve finally found what I was searching for back in Alsace, that feeling of having truly arrived, of being exactly where I’m meant to be.

Alongside traveling, hiking is one of my greatest passions, luckily, the two go hand in hand. My heart beats for inspiring encounters, creamy cheesecake, and that indescribable sense of joy I feel when I reach the summit after a long, challenging climb. With a sip of tea from my thermos and a breathtaking view in front of me, I feel both grounded and alive. In those moments, I’m fully present, simply savoring the feeling of catching my breath again 🙂

As much as I love Nice, I rarely stay in one place for long. Sooner or later, that familiar tingle returns, a quiet restlessness whispering that it’s time to set out again.

Maybe one day I’ll hang up my backpack somewhere in the middle of nowhere and dedicate myself to restoring a charming old house: creaky floorboards, a wild garden, and the quiet promise of being brought back to life. And maybe that’s when the dream of having my own guesthouse or a small hostel will finally come true.

But until then, there’s still so much to discover, to experience, and to share. I’d love for you to join me on this journey, and I can’t wait to see where the next step will lead us.
